Miles is a specialist business coach and a psychotherapist. He brings a wealth of professional, organisational and business experience to his practice. Before specialising in psychology Miles worked as a lawyer in the City and Whitehall; as a commercial director in the real estate sector; and as a team manager within HR in a global professional services organisation.
As a coach Miles's specialist area of work is focusing on how our states of mind can enhance - or undermine - our work performance and career progression. He works with clients at all levels of seniority, to develop in-depth and sustainable changes in their ability to process their own thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviours and so enhance their performance and work relationships. Given the nature of the work Miles does, his coaching will often draw on elements of both your professional and personal life. He helps clients to deal with unproductive (and often semi-hidden) issues such as: anxiety, anger, lack of motivation, depression, feeling like an impostor, self attack, unhelpful levels of stress, lack of self esteem/self confidence. He also works with difficulties in work relationships with colleagues and unhelpful coping mechanisms - or fight, flight or freeze reactions - such as: withdrawal, disengagement, avoidance, overworking, perfectionism, emotional explosion, and other inappropriate or undermining behaviours.
